In the dark of night, using extra large fly patterns imitating mice or voles. He will be sharing what he has learned and what it takes to get into some really large trout on Silver Creek. BIOGRAPHY Born in Boise, Idaho and moved around a lot as a child. My dad was an avid fly fisherman my whole life, so I was exposed to some of the special rivers in Idaho at a young age! I caught my first fish on a fly rod on the SF of the Boise river as just a little guy. Although my dad was very into fly fishing my whole life, my passion for fly fishing really developed in Michigan. I had just graduated high school and had a bunch of free time without sports and school to keep me busy, so I started fly fishing. Rivers like the Pere Marquette and Au Sauble are where my love for fly fishing began. I decided around 7 years ago I wanted to pursue a career as a fly fishing guide in the area I grew up in, so I moved back to Boise. In my first 2 years back I can count on 2 hands how many days I didn’t fish, most of which were spent on the Boise in town. I really fell in love with fly fishing for trout during this time. Now all my time is spent either on the water, tying flies or hanging with my dog Grove.
