Zoom on the Fly-Friday 8Jul22 6:00 PM MDT
This week is our last Zoom fly-tying training session. In it we’ll discuss equipment of all types needed to set up a simple to the more complex Zoom studio. To date, you’ve learned how a simple Zoom fly-tying presentation can be offered with nothing more than a laptop. Adding additional cameras via cell phones or webcams was our next upgrade. This week we’ll receive information from:
- John Wright (Raspberry Pi computers)
- David Buckner (GoPro cameras)
- Jim Ferguson (shotgun microphone)
- Michael Peratis (using a video camera & HDMI splitter)
- The Beattys (lot of different equipment, some good and some not so good), and
- Whomever wants to chime in with their experience(s).
The whole purpose of these sessions is to prepare all of you to present at the FFI Virtual Expo 2022 (4 through 6 November 2022) and to participate in Beatty’s Fly Tying Friday events through the fall, winter, and spring (2022 & 2023) Zoom training sessions. Last, we’ll briefly discuss audio options for YOUR Zoom studio. As a final bonus, Al Beatty will demonstrate a very simple Muddler Minnow pattern using only two materials in addition to the hook & thread. You don’t need a recipe to tie along, just show up with deer hair and Chickabou (or marabou). A 3X long hook and single strand floss will round out your tying material needs. This is a tie-and-go-fishing kind of fly, NOT one you spend hours trying to get “just right!”
Gretchen & Al Beatty are inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
