In 2021 Boise Valley Fly Fishers worked closely with Idaho Fish and Game and the Boise River Flood District #10 to place augmented gravel in a side channel of the Boise River to provide areas where trout could successfully build spawning redds.  Shock studies the following year confirmed the large success of this project.  This area of the Boise River now has one of the highest count of trout in the area.  Read HERE about this project.

BVFF will continue this program with a gravel refresh in the Boise River, and is now working with Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife to initiate and support a similar project on the Owyhee River in Eastern Oregon.
