BANK STABILIZATION PROJECT
**DATE PUSHED BACK TO WED, DUE TO WEATHER**
High water from last year caused a large log-jam at the bottom of the side channel at the Diane Moore Nature center which resulted in some significant bank erosion. We will be breaking up the log-jam and securing some large woody debris in front of the bank/hillside to prevent further erosion.
With the recent increased snowpack and high reservoir carryover the flows on the Boise river are anticipated to come up soon to make room for the runoff. So we need to act quickly. We expect there will be a second work day possibly on Friday, Saturday, or the following week.
We will be working in the side channel, so volunteers should wear some sort of waders or boots that can handle being in shallow water (wear old waders, as they could get damaged). Bring good work gloves for handling woody debris and dress in layers as it will be cool in the morning and could rain.
We will have lunch, snacks and water for volunteers. Please register so we can coordinate ordering lunch.
