McCall/Cascade Area Fisheries
Welcome to McCall in the Fall – Sponsored by BVFF/WFFI
This is the outline of our combined outing on September 19th to 22nd. Come when you can and learn about the fishing in this mountain area. Hopefully the weather will cool, and we will not see smoke from the forest fires.
As you register for the outing, we provide more details on exact locations, times and conditions. We will be using email as the primary medium. I would like to publish a list of members attending that includes your cell phones. This will help us form groups for fishing. We encourage small groups to fish together ---
Lodging:
Now is the time to confirm your lodging plans. There are numerous hotels, rentals and campsites in the area. One RV/Camping area is Ponderosa Sate Park, you can find there data online.
Also, Mike McLean has a rental unit:
You may recall we own a vacation rental. We’re offering the clubs’ members a discounted rate, of $125 per night + a $125 cleaning fee.
It sleeps 4 people. It’s a 3-bedroom 1 bath cottage. The main bedroom has a queen-size bed. The other bedrooms each have 2 twin beds. The address is 208 Thula, right up from the fire station, and 2 doors down from our home.
Anyone can contact me directly at 208-315-3130. The terms would be cash or check since we’re not set up to take credit cards.
What about fishing?
Again, we will be sending out data to those that register.
We are having an “early angler meetup” around 6:00 pm on Thursday. We will forward the location as we confirm.
Friday night at 6:00 pm, BVFF will host a “meet & greet” at the Wyndam Timeshare Patio area. A map will be mailed to all that register. At this event, Mike McLean will give an update on the High Mountain Lakes --- come learn to plan your adventure for this and future times on the water.
Saturday, combined Potluck Hosted by WFFI at:
The potluck will be at Meadowcreek Pond, at 5:00 pm, which is just inside the entrance to the Meadowcreek Development/Golf Course off Hwy 95 north of New Meadows. There is room there for the potluck and a nice sized pond to fish from the bank or from float tubes.
We would want to have time to visit, eat and fish before it gets dark. BVFF will provide paper plates, etc. Please bring your favorite potluck item and a lawn chair.
