Steelhead Fishing - Grande Ronde/Clearwater Rivers
Date: October 21 - 25, 2026
If you're a steelhead fishing veteran or a newbie, the Grande Ronde/Clearwater Rives provide some terrific fall fishing. We may stay at the Troy Resort (541-828-7773) in Troy Oregon or we may stay at Hells Gate State Park (208-799-5015) in Lewiston, Idaho. It all depends on the location of the migrating steelhead.
Anticipate fall weather in Oregon/Idaho that can range from sunny and 80F to blizzards and below freezing temps (just wait 15 minutes and it will change). Bring clothing to meet the weather demands.
There are many good steelhead guide services on the Clearwater and Snake rivers. Below are two guide service companies that club members have used in the past and a link to Clearwater River access points:

We are working to arrange a spey casting clinic either before the outing in Boise or up on the Grande Ronde/Clearwater. Let us know if you're interested. More details to come.
The drive from Boise to Troy or Lewiston is about 5 hours.
In addition to an Oregon and/or Idaho fishing license, you will need a steelhead permit/card.
Host needed!
